S-Comm Technologies was founded by Dr. Les Sabel in 2008. Les has over 30 years experience in communications systems, including digital radio (DAB/DAB+ and DRM), mobile communications (2G to 5G), wireless broadband and satellite communications.
S-Comm Technologies skills and expertise covers a wide range of communication systems engineering activities including:

Recent projects include:
- international consultant to the Thailand Bangkok DAB+ trial (2019)
- end-to-end development of the Mandurah DAB+ system (from initial transmission power increase modelling and negotiations with the ACMA to system installation and commissioning) (2017 – 2019)
- lead writer for the Australian DAB standard update (due to be published early 2021)
- multiple educational webinars on DAB+ with WorldDAB for the Arab States Broadcasting Union and the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (2020)
- Chairman of the WorldDAB Asia-Pacific Technical Group (2020)
- Multiple projects for Commercial Radio Australia (2008 to present)
Les has held senior positions in companies across the globe to deliver new products and services including RadioScape plc (UK), Verticalband (UK), Lucent Technologies (UK/USA), the Institute of Telecommunications Research at the University of South Australia, Defence Science and Technology, Telstra and commercial television.
